Work on the Van Voast Bridge restoration project will begin Monday, March 2, with the first phase focused on site preparation along the south side of the bridge. Crews will clear trees and brush to create access for a crane and establish a safe workspace for the upcoming pedestrian bridge improvements.
During this initial clearing phase, there will be limited access in this area of Van Voast close to the bridge. Residents are encouraged to park farther up the street while the work is taking place to allow crews and equipment adequate room to operate safely. The city appreciates the community’s patience as this important first step gets underway.
The pedestrian bridge will undergo a comprehensive restoration program to ensure it is structurally sound and safe for public use once completed. Once construction is finished, the Bellevue Tree Commission will oversee the replanting of trees removed during the project, helping restore the area’s greenery while preserving this valued community asset.
