SearchHarland Hubbard Memorial
The City is seeking donations to help pay for a historic marker in honor of Harlan Hubbard, the writer, visual artist, and visionary who was born in Bellevue in 1900.
Local attorney Jim Dady has volunteered to write the tribute to be inscribed on the marker, and is working with a company in Marietta, Ohio, that manufactures the markers.
“Everyone in Bellevue and everyone who visits should know about Harlan and his wife Anna and their unique partnership bound up in love for the Ohio River,” Mr. Dady said.

Honor Roll 5K
While this was the 250th anniversary of our country and the 97th anniversary of the Bellevue-Dayton Memorial Day Parade, it was the first Honor Roll 5K race.
This race began and ended at the Bellevue Beach Park after a tour of the scenic Riverfront Commons in Dayton. There were over 100 people in this race where all of the money raised went to a local Veterans food pantry. I had a pleasant surprise at the finish line when my 13 year old grandson, Ethan Daly, finished in fourth place.
Sam Shelton did an excellent job organizing the start and finish line of the race. The parade committee came up with the idea to have this event. Here is the list of the top 10 winners along with their times.

Memorial Day T-Shirt Contest
We are proud to recognize the talented student artists behind this year’s Bellevue–Dayton Memorial Day T-Shirt Design Contest:
Each student submitted artwork that honored our veterans and captured the spirit of Memorial Day. The committee was so impressed by all three designs that elements from each were incorporated into this year’s official Memorial Day Parade T-shirt, creating the artwork featured on both the front and back of the shirt.
Thank you to these outstanding young artists for sharing their creativity and helping celebrate one of our community’s most cherished traditions.
